Today we have just two meetings, a flat card at Chester plus a jumps card at Market Rasen.  Tom Scu is riding at Market Rasen but it looks like it could be a hard day for Tom as not many of his rides are that well fancied.  The Chester card looks interesting.  The 2.35pm is a conditions stakes over 6 furlongs.  Richard Fahey runs Regulator who won a maiden race at Ayr last time and does not carry a penalty.  Talking of Richard Fahey, he sent out is 1000th runner of the season this week and also his 121st winner which averages out at 25 winners a month.  I know he has a lot of horses in training but that is still a very good total.

I hope you all tune in to Countryfile tonight on BBC1 at 5.30pm.  There is going to be a piece called Roots and Shoots and is related to the work of a company called Knight Scientific. The piece is related to their work with testing antioxidant capacity of natural plant material.  This is the work that led them to develop with their partners in Ireland the formulation for the supplement P4-Max which was used last season by the Plymouth Argyle footballers.  It should be an interesting watch.  We are actually currently assisting Dr Jan Knight and her team from Knight Scientific with their research into equine bloods.  It has been very interesting to work alongside them for the past few months.

I see they recorded the TV auction show at Cheltenham racecourse on Friday and the racecourse auctioned a bit of silverware which used to serve guests in the Royal Box a the track for over 100 years.  The money raised will go to the Injured Jockeys Fund.  The show will actually not be aired until January so we have a bit of a wait to see how much it made!  The host of the show is David Dickinson, the one that wears the funny clothes!

The only football match today is Bolton v Leeds,  Bolton were promoted last season and Leeds played well last season.  It should be a good game and you can back Leeds at 8/5.

I have been watching the cricket and it must be strange for a commentator to say it is James Anderson bowling from the James Anderson end!  The Pavillion end is going to be renamed the James Anderson end.  This sort of thing normally only happens when a player retires but Anderson has said he would like to go on for a few more years!  Perhaps they are trying to tell him something.

I always cry at weddings you know, because I know what it is like to be married!  Have a nice day.
