A big thank you must go to Wincanton racecourse who put on a golf tournament for the stable staff on their course in the centre of the track yesterday.  The weather stayed fine and there was free food and drink and some great prizes on offer.  Our team, although not winners in the golf, did not come home empty handed having won the best dressed team - I will let you judge for yourselves!  The team made up of Gerry Supple, Ashley Farrant, Ken Rixon an Gemma from the office actually played quite well I am told but they were no match for team Honeyball who were the winners by some distance.  We believe they were quite well handicapped!  A good time was had by all and it was a great event put on by Wincanton and their staff which is greatly appreciated by all the local trainers and their teams.

Today we have six flat cards at Ascot, Haydock, Newmarket, Redcar, Ayr and Lingfield.  It is Shergar Cup day at Ascot.  I asked a friend in the betting shop if it excited him and all he said was that he was interested in betting and racing and the Shergar Cup made no difference!  I quite like it as it a chance to see different jockeys from all around the world.  I see top jockeys Ryan Moore and Frankie Dettori will be riding tonight in the States, it is the Arlington Million at 12.19 and Moore rides the Aidan O'Brien favourite for the race, Deauville.   Ryan has some great rides today and will be taking in Arlington, Deauville, Curragh and Washington in the space of a few hours!

I watched the Arsenal v Leicester game last night, it was a very entertaining game with Arsenal winning 4-3 in the end.  You could sense the crowd was about to turn on manager Arsene Wenger when Leicester went in front.  Luckily for the manager they managed a narrow win, mind you the Gunners defence looked slow so I think they are going to concede a lot of goals and I think they will still struggle to make it into the top 4.  There are plenty of Premiership matches today.  I will be having a few bets, Crystal Palace 5/6, Everton 7/10 and Southampton 8/13.  The early match is on Sky at 12.30, Watford versus Liverpool.  I love to see Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp running up and down the touchline!

Rory McIlroy does not seem to have a lot of control over his driver at the moment.  I know he hits it a long way but it does get him into trouble.  He has not been in serious contention in any of the last 10 majors.

I just got a new aftershave that smells like breadcrumbs.  The birds love it!  Have a nice day.
