There are two jumps meetings taking place this afternoon with a flat card from York and a jumps meeting from Fontwell.  David runs two at Fontwell with Ramses de Teillee and Bambi du Noyer contesting the 2m3f handicap hurdle at 4pm.  Ramses de Teillee showed some good form in his first season with the stable last term and rounded of the campaign with a very respectable sixth in the EBF Final at Sandown - it is his first start for 183 days but he would not be without a chance under Tom Scudamore.  Meanwhile, Bambi du Noyer has been in consistent form this season, finishing placed on each occasion and he is weighted to go well once again under David Noonan.

There is a great looking fixture from the Curragh where it is the second day of the Irish Champion meeting.  There are no fewer than five Group races on the card including the Irish St Leger at 4.50pm.  Aidan O'Brien looks to have this one covered with Order Of St George following the defection of Big Orange.  Ryan Moore is aboard all of O'Brien's horses in the Group contests.  The trickiest contest would appear to be the Tattersalls Sales Stakes - a 30 runner cavalry charge for two-year old's at 5.25pm...amazingly the Ballydoyle runner don't have a runner in that race!  A lot of English trainers are having a crack though, and who can blame them with £300,000 up for grabs?

There are just two football matches taking place this afternoon with Burnley taking on Crystal Palace and Swansea hosting Newcastle.  I will have a sneaky home win double at 7/5 and 6/4 respectively.

Golfer Scott Hend is playing well in the European Masters although he must be worried sick about his 11 year old twins who are under threat from Hurricane Irma in the family home in Northern Florida.  He is currently in Switzerland with his wife caddying for him - most worrying for them both.

I was surprised when my psychic friend complimented me on the way I had cooked his steak 'well done' is rare from a medium!  Keep smiling...
