With jumps racing midway through it's mini break, today there are five flat meetings at Ascot, Pontefract, Wolverhampton, Brighton and Bath.  Bath is an evening meeting with all sprint races of 5 and 5 1/2F.  I love John Gosden's comments racing yesterday, "the jockey's my driver today, he has one speed, flat out!  I've alerted the local police"!  He was talking about Frankie Dettori.  I know all about jockeys driving fast.  I once got a lift with Haddon Frost.  He drove at 100mph with a pork pie in one hand and a coffee in the other with the steering wheel between his knees! My fellow Irish passenger wanted to get out and get a train home and I am not kidding!

I see professional punter Dave Nevison lost it big time on Racing UK on Saturday.  He was near the bookmakers and he was interrupted by someone trying to have a laugh.  As the camera cut away a disgruntled Nevison was heard to say "what a ***, you lot are total..." I will let you guess the last word!

In the Champions League it is Roma versus Liverpool tonight at 7.45pm on BT Sport.  Liverpool take a 5-2 lead into the game so it is a great position to be in but it is a shame they gave those two late goals away at Anfield.  There will be goals tonight but lets just hope Liverpool do not give too many away.  I have had a small bet on LIverpool at 8-5.  Steven Gerrard is close to getting his first job as a manager at Rangers.  It is a big first managing job.  Their supporters will want them to beat Celtic and that is not going to happen until they give him about £50 million to spend.

Australian scrum half Nick Phipps has been fined £2200 after urinating on a bar while wearing a cow costume during a night out!  That must be the most expensive wee he has ever had!

I nearly invested money in the Egyptian tourism industry but then I realised it was just a pyramid scheme!
