        Shotavodka runs this evening

There are five meetings today.  Four flat cards at Lingfield, Chepstow, Musselburgh and Newcastle plus a hunter chase card at Cheltenham.  Just look how many runners the hunter chase card at Cheltenham has attracted which is good to see but there seems to be too many professional trainers at Cheltenham.  As I have said many times before, I don't think professional trainers should be allowed runners in these races.  Looking at the card I think I would back Mr Alex Edwards on whatever he is riding.  I know he is leading jockey in the point to point field and he looks to have some good chances tonight.  One of our old Pond House favourites also runs there tonight, Shotvodka.  He was a good second at Southwell last time and fingers crossed he will run well this evening.

It is Sir Anthony McCoy's 44th birthday today.  I will be back in Lambourn with AP next week while Carol goes to see the specialist at Oaksey House.  I am looking forward to going around all the yards and gallops in Lambourn again.

There is a great game of football tonight.  Brighton play Manchester United and I bet they wish they had a bigger stadium.  You can back United at 8/11 and it looks like they will finish second to Manchester City in the league - it is a Manchester whitewash!.  What about Liverpool's European final.  The two clubs involved will only get 16,000 tickets each.  23,000 tickets will go to people who are not even real supporters of either team which does not seem right to me.  Also, Liverpool will have to pay out another £10 million to Southampton if they win the Champions League.

Rory McIlroy shot a 3 under par 69 at Quail Hollow.  He is now 57 under par at this course since 2012.  He looks to have more control of his driver which always helps!

What goes from zero to sixty in a minute...a clock!  Have good day.
