             Happy Birthday MCP!

Today we have five meetings, all on the flat at Leicester, Redcar, Lingfield, Wolverhampton and Brighton.  The two highest prize money meetings of the day however are in Ireland at Gowran Park and Ballinrobe.  I must say a very Happy Birthday to MCP who is 73 today.  Luckily my wife sent him a card that means he's got two cards, one from Carol and one from Jane!  We are looking forward to celebrating with him later in the week but have a good day Mart!  There looked to be big crowds at all of yesterdays bank holiday meetings.  If you were at Chelmsford then you probably did okay as 5 out of 7 favourites won so I am sure quite a lot of people went home happy!  In fact I had five best yesterday and four of them won.

Trainer Eve Johnson-Houghton has spoken out to say don't allow racegoers to drink in the stands.  She had a bit of a problem with 8-10 lads in the owners and trainers bar at Salisbury on Saturday evening.  They were watching the football on their phones and being a bit loud.  A couple who are in their fourties who were there said they were flat racing for the first time but would not be coming back again.  It will be jump racing only in the future for them.  I wonder how these lads even got into the owners and trainers bar, I thought they had doormen stopping people?

I see that Raheen Sterling has got a new tattoo on his leg which is of a big rifle.  This has upset quite a few people as you might expect.  Apparently their is a good explanation as to why he has had this done, to do with his late father but at the end of the day he is a role model who youngster look up to and I am not sure it sets a very goo example.  Keeping on the football front I see that Liverpool have paid £44 million for Tor Fabinho, a midfield player from Monaco.  No new goalie as yet.  Gary Cahill has urged England's young players to show no fear when they go the the World Cup in Russia.  Has he forgotten that we lost to Iceland recently?  England should get out of the group but I fear that is where it could end.

I am worried that my addiction the helter-skeltors is spiraling out of control...!  Have a nice day.
