Great Tempo runs at Ffos Las

Today we have five meetings.  Flat cards at Hamilton, Lingfield, Wolverhampton and Chelmsford plus a jumps card at Ffos Las.  David has three runners at Ffos Las this evening.  Great Tempo runs in the 6.30pm 2m5f novice handicap chase.  He was third on his chasing debut at Worcester last time and that was a pretty good run.  The Post have him at 100/30 and with a clear run he should run well with Tom Scu in the saddle.  Dauphine Ereine runs in the 7.00pm 3 mile handicap chase.  She has won three chases in France in 2016 and all of those wins came on good ground.  She has been very consistent in her three runs for Pond House and she deserves to win one.  She is 12/1 and Tom Scu rides.

Iniciar runs in the 8.30pm handicap hurdle over 2m5f with Daryl Jacob on board.  He hasn't had many races in recent times and ran okay last time out at Towcester but needs to improve to win this evening.

It looks like Howards and John Johns have made too many famous sticky toffee puddings this year.  At Cartmel it used to be that the winners got one, now they tell me the placed horses get one as well!  It will be worth visiting their village shop.  I wonder if they will put one in the post to me?!  I think it was a good decision by Cartmel's Anthea Morshead and officials to stop the 2m1f handicap hurdle yesterday.  Grand National winning jockey Derek Fox had taken a nasty fall at the first hurdle and lay motionless.  It was decided that the horses could not bypass the stricken rider on the next circuit safely so the decision was made to void the race.  Thankfully the horse and rider were both okay but it was the right thing to do at the time

I see that Usain Bolt wants to be a footballer and he was training with Norwegian side Stromsgodslt.  He is preparing for the Soccer Aid match on 10th June.  He is going to captain the World 11 at Old Trafford and his shirt number is 9.58 (his 100m World record time!).  I bet that will make a few quid at the auction.  Northern Ireland drew away to Panama and Scotland lost 2-0 away to Peru in the football yesterday.

The cricket test match starts tomorrow and let's just hope England play a bit better than in the last one.  Mind you we can not play a lot worse!

Where there's a will I want to be in!
