There are just two flat cards today at Epsom and Musselburgh so if you live in the Midlands or the North of Engalnd bad luck it looks like it will be another day in fron tof the television! You could watch the golf or even the football with Aston Villa versus West Brom, a real local derby. One of our owners Matt Archer will be watching this with interest from Cyprus! Meanwhile back to the racing front, just something I would like to pass comment on, photo finishes. They do get the result out so quickly these days that it is hard to have a bet on the result. Do you remember when punters used to stand on the winning line to see who had won the photo finish and they run to get a bet on? Many years ago at a point to point there was a photo finish and I was near to the line. I said to our vet and Mr Walters that I wished I knew the result. He said I do I am the judge! A great man and a great judge as he told me the result!
It may be quiet on the action front on the racecourse but it is another busy day at Pond House! All the horses are in an we have a nice team which we are looking forward to getting on the track over the coming months. There is plenty of horses going up the gallops and I will continue to put a few photos of the hroses in action on here over the coming days.
Buddy Bolero Battle Group
In the boxing, Ricky Hatton has named his first opponent on his come back fight. It will be his first for three years and he will be against Senchenko who has won 32 of his 33 fights. I cannot believe that the are betting the hitman at 6/4 to win a major world title. I think he is more like to retire again after this or one more fight.
Nottingham Forest to beat Derby at 21-20 and Villa to beat West Brom at 6/4. The football will give me some interest in a break from the golf!
