It seems as though Wetherby have managed to escape the worst of the rain and they are giving their official going this afternoon as good/soft. We make the long trip up north with three runners - I Shot The Sheriff, African Broadway and Katchmore (pictured above). I Shot The Sheriff looks like an interesting hurdling debutant as he makes his first start for the team at Pond House, while African Broadway had some useful form over hurdles last season and now makes his chasing debut - Tom Scudamore rides them both. Katchmore carries plenty of weight in the handicap hurdle but he has been in good form, winning at Ffos Las on his penultimate start and he will be partnered by Tom Bellamy who takes a useful 7lbs off his back. There are three other meetings on this afternoon, all of them on the flat at Nottingham, Kempton and Lingfield
Our runner at Huntingdon yesterday, Weekend Millionair ran a sound race to finish second in the novices' hurdle. He was only beaten a couple of lengths by Dance Tempo and battled on well after being headed at the last - he looked to me as though he may even stay a little bit further
I could not believe what I was listening to yesterday as I was watching Attheraces. Their reporter commented that he would not take too much notice of the application of a hood to John Gosden's two year old, Seek Again. The juvenile had made a winning debut and was sent off a short-priced favourite to follow-up yesterday, but Mr Gosden would not have put the headgear on his charge without there being a reason and you guessed it...he was turned over and did not look at all straight forward! What do some of these commentators get paid for?!

England's football international against Poland was postponed until today when it was called off due to waterlogging. Why did they just not pull the roof over the stadium when it started raining, or am I missing something?! What about when the ref went onto the pitch and threw the ball in the puddle? The match will now take place at 4pm but I would imagine that the pitch will be very soft and not conducive to top quality football action.
There was trouble last night as England's Under 21 side took on Serbia. There were clashes afterwards as there were claims of racial abuse against one of our players. Personally I think that the Serbs should be kicked out of International football - that is the only way they are going to stop such terrible behaviour.
