              Broadway Buffalo

Today there are just two meetings and they are both over jumps at Aintree and Wincanton.  David has five runners at both tracks with Midnight Tuesday and Broadway Buffalo running at Aintree and Frankline Roosevelt, Bathwick Man and Weekend Millionair at Wincanton.  I am especially looking forward to seeing Broadway Buffalo run in the bumper at Aintree.  Our four year old has won his only start, a bumper at Worcester in quite impressive fashion and Tom Scu rides.  It is quite difficult for horses carrying penalties to win another bumper but we like our four year old a lot and he has a good chance.

Midnight Tuesday runs in a competitive handicap hurdle but he ran a good race on his comeback run at Kelso last time and he has a chance in this.  It does look like the Alan King maybe the one to beat in this.  A couple of races at Aintree are worth over £10,000 and there is also another race worth just under that figure so it is great prize money on offer for a Sunday.  If you are going to Aintree today, don’t forget they also have the football on in Liverpool, the big derby match between Everton and Liverpool.  Race traffic should miss all the football crowd but you may want to allow extra time.

Franklin Roosevelt kicks off the runners at Wincanton in the first race.  He is making his Pond House debut and he was a winner on his latest start for Warren Greaterex.  He heads the weights in the handicap hurdle and we are hoping for a good run with Conor O’Farrell on board.  Bathwick Man is very consistent and never runs a bad race and Weekend Millionair is our final runner at the meeting.  Tom Bellamy rides both of theses horses and takes valuable weight off.  Weekend Millionair was second at Huntingdon last time out and we are hoping he can go one place better this afternoon.  Check back here tomorrow for all the news on our weekend runners.

In the football I see there seems to be so many stories about match fixing in Europe.  Napoli captain Paolo Cannavaro has been accused of match fixing relating to a Sampdorias 1-0 home win over Napoli in May 2010.  Don’t these players earn enough money?!  Football, snooker, cricket betting fixing, cycling drug taking, is any sport clean?!

Just think if you finished second to Lance Armstrong in those seven tour De France races that he won then you would be expected to be awarded the race.  Well, the International cycling union are going to leave them winless due to doubts over other riders.  I wonder if any of the other riders were on drugs, the cycling board obviously think a lot of them were on the funny stuff!
