Well, hopefully today there will be three jumps meetings taking place at Carlisle, Musselburgh and Hereford. The weather forecast doesn't look too bad so we should be in for a good day of action. The stable has runners at Carlisle and Hereford. Poole Master (pictured above) and Kusadasi make the long trek up north where they will be partnered by stable jockey Tom Scudamore, while Conor O'Farrell takes the ride aboard Franklin Roosevelt, Hugo Drax and E Street Boy at Hereford.
It will be a poignant day at Hereford as they host their last day of racing before the track shuts (at least for the foreseeable future). A P McCoy has rides at the meeting and I would imagine that there will be a decent turnout. Hopefully the yard will be able to mark the occasion with a winner or two.
I have just read a fantastic story involving Hereford racecourse. Former champion jockey Harry Brown fancied a bet (I don't suppose they had the same sort of restrictions back then), so on an Easter Monday in 1928 he wagered that he could catch a salmon in the River Wye and ride a winner at Hereford within an hour. I wonder if his bookmaker told him to sling his hook...boom boom!
I was pleased to see the powers that be have managed to salvage The Peterborough Chase and it is now going to be held at Exeter on Thursday. We don't want to lose these big races and on this occasion, Huntingdon's loss is Exeter's gain. Well done to all involved in the re-organisation.

There is a great football match to look forward to this afternoon as Spurs take on Swansea - two good passing teams against each other should certainly make for entertaining viewing. Having said that Tottenham Hotspur do look the most likely winners to me.
