There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with two over the sticks at Chepstow and Leicester as well as an all-weather flat card at Wolverhampton.  The stable has a runner at both Chepstow (Laflammedeglorie, pictured above) and Leicester (Henok) - Tom Scudamore travels across the Severn Bridge to Chepstow, while Conor O'Farrell partners our Leicester runner.

Although we drew a blank at Taunton yesterday, Guess Again went to within a short head and a head of landing the beginners' chase while Bladoun also performed creditably when finishing runner-up to a potentially useful type in Sound Investment in the maiden hurdle.  Also on the card at Taunton Extremely So paid a handsome compliment to the form of the stable's Home Run by winning the handicap hurdle by eleven lengths.  Home Run had previously beaten Extremely So at Taunton on his penultimate start and has since gone on to complete the five-timer with success at Musselburgh...I think if I were the trainer of yesterday's winner I would be looking to turn her out again quickly under a penalty.

Looking back to the weekend I still cannot believe that no action was taken after the ride that Join The Navy was given by Miss C Boxhall at Plumpton on Sunday.  Her mount was tailed off from the start (and I mean tailed off!) before staying on strongly in the straight to finish a never dangerous fourth.  The horse was a well supported 7/2 joint favourite and even the form book says "finished with plenty left", while the trainer stated that she was disappointed with how far the horse was detached...were the stewards on a day off on Sunday?!

Has anyone been watching Frankie Dettori's progress in the Celebrity Big Brother house?  In fairness the Italian seems to be doing okay, but I suppose he does look quite normal in comparison to some of the train wrecks that are in there with him!  Has anyone ever seen a sportsman as overweight and scruffy as Neil "Razor" Ruddock?  I nearly didn't recognise him, he has changed that much...It is hard to believe that he ever played football in the top flight...having said that, I still wouldn't want to upset him.

Why is it that when a footballer scores and then celebrates by taking their shirt off they get booked?  There are plenty of tackles that go unpublished so shirt off is fine by me (and most of the lady spectators)!
