It is a blank day for the yard today with no runners from the stable.  There are three meetings taking place today with two over the sticks at Kelso and Fakenham as well as an all-weather card at Wolverhampton.  David Evans does well at Wolverhampton and I see that he has a horse going called Lager Time - I wonder who that was named after?!  I remember getting him a ticket to the Cheltenham Festival about fifteen years ago when a steward in a yellow reflective jacket was being a little over-officious with him.  Whenever I see him now, David always talks to me - maybe I shouldn't have helped him afterall?...only joking!

After watching the Morning Line yesterday, I was relieved to see Mick Fitzgerald (probably for the first time!) on the Morning Line - at least he has ridden a winner or two during his time.  It seems that Mick's Irish accent is getting stronger every time I hear him...the trouble is, he is not Francome!

Following the news that he is to retire from training and gambling, I would urge Barney Curley to publish a book.  It would be a fascinating read, so long as he told everything.  Maybe MCP should consider doing another book too?  I still remember being served with a writ at Huntingdon racecourse - the men asked for me personally and Martin pointed them straight in my direction!  Talk about dropping you in it, who needs enemies when you have friends like that?!

There is some great football action taking place this afternoon with Manchester United taking on Liverpool at 1.30pm and then at 4pm we have Arsenal versus Manchester City, so that is my afternoon taken care of!  Luis Suarez back at United, I wonder if he will be shaking everyone's hand?!
