Today, hopefully there are two meetings on, one on the all-weather at Kempton plus a jumps card at Fairyhouse. We want Kempton to take place as David has a runner in the 3.55pm race. Purple 'N Gold was a winner at the track last time out and Willie Twiston-Davies is on board. Our four year old was put up five pounds for his latest win but Willie claims a valuable five pounds off his back and fingers crossed he should run well again this afternoon. Can you believe that in England we are struggling to get meetings on because of the weather, cold and snow, and yet in Australia they are having similar problems but just caused by excessive heat! The temperatures reached 43c which is scorching! If only we gould get a little bit of that heat to drift across the world to us then we would all be okay!
I wonder why no-one has yet built a track with undergound heating like a lot of the Premier league football pitches?! I guess it maybe a little bit too expensive!! At Lingfield during the week they only had 193 racegoers at the track. That figure included owners and trainers! Mind you, they only had 149 people at their meeting on 20th December so undergound heating would definitely be too expensive for them!
The Taunton fixture that was abandoned yesterday is hopefully going to be re-arranged for April. It would have been the richest ever meeting at our local track so it is god they are trying to get a new date.
I see the new Southampton manager Mauricio Dochettino got kicked out of Espanyol as a bad manager! The Southampton chairman Nicola Cortese (another English soudning chairman) seem to have no idea about football, the club is just his toy. They don't understand the passion of the English supporters.
