Following the abandonment of Taunton this afternoon due to waterlogging we are left with two all-weather meetings at Lingfield (bumpers) and Wolverhampton. The weather has been a little raucous over the last few days with heavy rain and strong winds and I would imagine that both tracks are going to be very wet. Indeed, there was a tree down, blocking the main road into Brixham yesterday. What would we do without all-weather racing?

Above: The Package will receive a Grand National entry today
It will be a busy day in the office at Pond House today with early closing entries for the Grand National as well as several races at the Cheltenham Festival. David has already revealed that Swing Bill and The Package will be entered in the big one at Aintree, but to find out which others will join them remember to come back tomorrow and I will reveal all.
"All he does is eat and go out in the field!" I thought she was talking about our head lad Eddie Buckley but instead trainer Ruth Carr was talking about Hab Reeh, a winner at Wolverhampton yesterday who has already won three times this year.

Looking through the Premiership table, I reckon that the bottom eleven teams could become embroiled in a relegation battle. Ten of those teams are within ten points of each other and with three points on offer for a win it could become a very exciting end to the season. There was a great result for Torquay last night as they beat Exeter 1-0 away - it was a big local derby and what is more, it was on Sky...does it get any better than that? I have obviously lived in the West country too long!

I see that Dutch cyclist Grischa Niermann has been banned from the sport for six months after admitting doping from 2000-2003 while racing for Rabobank. It makes you wonder just how many of the cyclists are clean!

Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking...for instance, if you were to try to enter a country such as Bali with a load of drugs then you know what penalty you are likely to face. There's no point in crying about it after you are caught! Am I the only one who thinks like this?

I have been told to try to be politically correct so I am not going to crack any PMT jokes as they aren't funny...period!
