Centasia_Ludlow_web

It was a good day for the stable yesterday with an across-the-card double at Leicester and Ludlow.  Buddy Bolero was successful at Leicester in the staying handicap chase, putting up a very good performance on this step up to three miles on his first start in handicap company.  He looks to be a very useful chaser in the making.  Over at Ludlow Centasia (pictured above) made a winning debut for the yard in the 1m6f bumper under Conor O'Farrell to beat the gambled on Sealous Scout by a head.  This was probably a decent performance despite the small field and she is now unbeaten in two starts.  Meanwhile, over on the all-weather Purple 'N Gold was beaten only a short-head a Kempton - not a bad day all things considered!

Today there are four meetings scheduled to take place pending Wincanton passing an early morning inspection, there are no anticipated problems at Towcester or on the all-weather at Lingfield and Wolverhampton.  The stable has runners at both jumps meetings - Red Sherlock at Towcester and Peut Etre Sivola, Master Overseer, Tamarinbleu and Big Occasion at WIncanton.  Red Sherlock looks particularly interesting on paper being out of that great racemare Lady Cricket, making her a half-sister to the unbeaten Swing Bowler - let's hope that he is able to continue the family's winning tradition.  The ground will be absolutely bottomless and any trip there will take some getting.

Fair play to former Grand National winning jockey Liam Treadwell who received a twelve day ban yesterday for missing out a fence at Leicester.  He put his hands up on television and apologised - he made no excuse and said that he had made a mistake.  We all make them, it was just good to see him man enough to admit it.

Much as I hate to admit it, I have to say that Manchester United are looking destined to win the Premiership as their main rivals cannot capitalise when there is an opening.

Time to get on my soapbox again - for once I agree with the British government who have refused to fund the legal cost of an appeal for the woman who is on drugs charges in Indonesia.  I'm afraid I really don't see why we should have to pay, sorry.

Thought for the day...be kind to your dentist, he has fillings too!
