It was another good day for the yard at the weekend with an across-the-card treble at Ffos Las and Wetherby on Saturday.  Top Gamble won a decent looking novices' hurdle in good style at Ffos Las under Conor O'Farrell - he scored by 6 lengths with the jockey easing down through most of the final furlong and he certainly looks to be one with a bright future.  Meanwhile, in the same race I thought that Otterburn put up a nice performance to finish fifth on his first start in over 700 days.  Tanerko Emery wasn't beaten at all far in the Welsh Champion Hurdle, while Heath Hunter kept his unbeaten record intact in the bumper - David certainly has a strong hand in this division this season and I'm sure he can't wait to see a few of them over timber.  Meanwhile, up at Wetherby Goulanes put up a gutsy performance on his chasing debut to get the better of Super Duty under Tom Scu.

Despite there being only two meetings on today, it looks like being a great day's action with a cracking good card at Doncaster to look forward to as well as an all-weather card at Wolverhampton.  The highlight is the clash between reigning champion hurdler Rock On Ruby and ante-post fancy for this year's contest, Darlan - an impressive success from either one could see a bit of a shake-up in the market.

I see that trainer George Baker enjoyed a Swiss winner Ancient Greece won on the ice at Saint Moritz at the weekend.  I remember Martin having a runner at the track many years ago when Gold Service took part.  Susie (who still works in the yard) travelled out with the horse and she had a great time...I think she meant with the racing!  I'm sure Susie must be a saint - her husband, Simon props up the bar in our hospitality marquee at Cheltenham every year!

They don't mess about over in Belgium!  Jockey Sacha Stappaerti has been banned from riding, owning or training horses for five years and the horse Eastern Warrior has been suspended from racing for three years having been found guilty of stopping the horse.  The rider was also fined £10,000.

Personally I think that spitting in any form of sport is unnaceptable.  Goran Popov spat at Kyle Walker in the West Brom versus Spurs game at the weekend and fair play to referee Mark Clattenburg for getting it spot-on and showing him the red card.

I was surprised when a girl told me the other day that she recognised me from the Vegetarian Club...I had never met herbivore!  Boom boom...
