There is more bad weather forecast towards the north of the country, but the good news is that following an early morning inspection the National Hunt card at Market Rasen goes ahead. Owing to the change in the ground, the stable's only intended runner, Barney Cool does not go at the Lincolnshire track. There are also meetings from Southwell on the all-weather and another jumps card at Sedgefield. The bad weather isn't just limited to the north of the country however as there were some quite heavy sleety/snow showers near the yard this morning.
It was a very sad day for racing yesterday as three horses lost their lives, the most high profile of which was undoubtedly Champion Hurdle second favourite Darlan who took a crashing fall at the last at Doncaster. On the same card, Mujamead also died, while Desert Vision passed away on the all-weather at Wolverhampton - our thoughts go out to connections of each horse, it really is a horrible thing to happen. The stable staff and jockeys all feel it, just think the grooms that feed them and ride them out every day will just have an empty box in the yard today. I remember when we lost a couple of horses at Cheltenham a number of years ago now, A P was inconsolable - I don't think I have ever seen someone so upset - he might be as hard as nails, but the horses do mean the world to him.

Can you believe that the AC Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani thinks that his new signing Mario Balotelli is as good as Lionel Messi?! And to think that these sort of people are running the top football clubs!
Wycombe goalkeeper Jordan Archer was attacked by a lunatic fan in a match against Gillingham last night. I bet Archer wished he had a bow and arrow to shoot his assailant! Personally I think these people should be thrown straight into prison!

What about Liz Hurley?! The actress found her 'stolen' car last night, four days after it had gone missing. It turns out that it wasn't stolen, she had just forgotten where she had parked it! I bet husband, legendary Aussie cricketer Shane Warne was in a real spin!
