It was a good across the card double for the yard yesterday with Broadway Buffalo winning at Newcastle and Alderluck winning at Bangor.  Mikey Ennis was on board Alderluck and made up for unseating him last time with a great waiting ride and it was the horses first win since joing Pond House.  Broadway Buffalo bolted up at Newcastle with Tom Scu in the saddle.  He has now won all three of his career starts and that was his debut over hurdles.  It was probably a good novice hurdle and the commentator thought that the first four home in the race were pretty useful.  Our five year olds jumping was little novicey to start with but got better as the race went on and he looks to have a very exciting future.  If you were watching the TV yesterday you may have seen that he is owned by a group of rugby boys including Andyw Powell and Mark Cueto.  They all play for Sale Sharks and indeed it was a great day all round as Sale beat Exeter Cheifs last night and Mark Cueto actually scored is 76th try for his team.  This is a record for the most tries ever scored in the Premiership so it wa a great day all round, well done Mark!

Unfortunately we do have some sad news to report from yesterday, Wings of Icarus has to be put to sleep after suffering an injury during his race at Kempton.  Timmy Murphy pulled him up very quickly after he went wrong on the flat but unfortunately the injury was too bad.  Our thoughts our with Shirl and the Girls who owned him.

Today there are five meetings, three jumps cards at Newbury, Warwick and Uttoxeter and two all-weather flat cards at Lingfield and Wolverhampton.  David has nine runners in total at Newbury and Warwick and the big race of the day is the Betfair hurdle at Newbury.  It is the richest handicap staged in the season and there is £150,000 up for grabs.  We run Swing Bowler and Ronaldo Des Mottes.  Swing Bowler is unbeaten in all five of her career starts, two bumpers and trhee hurdle races.  Timmy Murphy is getting down to 10st 1lb to ride our six year old and although this represents a big step up in class she still looks on the upgrade and deserves to take her chance.  Tonaldo Des Mottes has young Tom Bellamy on board taking a valuable seven pounds off his back.  This reduces his weight to 10st 4lb and he was goood fourth on his comeback run under Tom at Sandown last time out.  It looks a very open race with some very interesting handicappers taking part.  Military Precision, Water Garden, Junior and Our Father make up the rest of our Newbury team and all have got little chances in very competitive events.  Meanwhile at Warwick we have three runners, kicking off with Waterunder, then His Excellency and Prime Location.  Conor O'Farrell rides all three of these runners and once again they all have chances in some competitve races,

With over a month to go they are already advertisng the Cheltenham Festival preview evenings and I know David is already booked up for a few evenings whether it be attending in person or on the telephone!  They do have a free evening at Doncaster racecourse on Saturday 2nd March after racing which is a nice touch, exciting times!

Happy new Year to all Chinese readers!  It is their New Year, the year of the snake!

My football treble is Chelsea, Liverpool and Bournemouth.

What lies on its back, one hundred feet in the air?  A dead centipede!  Have a nice day.
