There are four meetings to look forward to this afternoon, two over the sticks at Fakenham and Sandown as well as all-weather flat cards at Lingfield and Wolverhampton. The good news is that there are no inspections planned, and the even better news - the stable has a couple of runners at Fakenham. Barney Cool and Edmund Kean who contest the National Hunt novices' hurdle look to be well up to winning their share of races so David sets us a bit of a poser here as they both appear to have chances.

Below is a photograph of Edmund Kean completing his preparation on the gallops in company with Bamboleo earlier in the week.

Yesterday's trip up to Kelso proved to be a little disappointing with Poole Master and Unique de Cotte appearing to need further as they finished third and fourth respectively.
It's the Royal Artillery Gold Cup at Sandown this afternoon and I see there are a couple of Majors riding in the race. Surely you can pull rank and tell the others not to beat you...afterall, rank must stand for something!

There was a good results for Spurs and Chelsea last night as they both won in Europe. Meanwhile, Liverpool were beaten again, this time by 2-0 against Zenit - I just wonder how much longer their fans will put up with these disappointing results before turning on the manager?

I see that snooker player Stephen Lee has been charged with match fixing. Lee has been suspended from the sport since October over four matches in the Malta Cup, two in the UK Championship and another at the China Open during 2008/9. I just wonder why it has taken so long for all this to come out...maybe someone is trying to frame him?!
