*2.40pm Ascot - Problema Tic Non-Runner*

The stable had two runners in the National Hunt novices' hurdle at Fakenham yesterday and the result really couldn't have been much better with Edmund Kean and Barney Cool finishing first and third.  Conor O'Farrell's mount won a shade cosily and he looks like an exciting prospect.  Meanwhile Barney Cool was a little keen early on but still ran creditably and showed himself to be well capable of winning races.  Conor is certainly riding very well at the moment and he was completing a double here having earlier won aboard the Mick Channon trained Ballypatrick.

Makadamia__Red_SherlockIt looks like being an exciting day's racing this afternoon with four meetings taking place - three over the sticks at Ascot, Wincanton and Haydock as well as an all-weather flat card at Lingfield.  The stable has runners at both Ascot and Wincanton, including some very exciting individuals.  Perhaps none more so than Red Sherlock (pictured right, farside) who is as short as 10/1 for the Cheltenham Festival Bumper following a deeply impressive debut success at Towcester.

There was some great camera work on Attheraces yesterday from Lingfield.  They caught a woman going through one of the litter bins looking for a winning ticket and her husband (at least I hope it was her husband) was taking a picture of her.  All I can say is it must have been a big win as she took everything out of the bin!

There look to be several bankers in the FA Cup  today and I will be having a little acca on Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United - they are all odds-on back look like good things to me!

I see that promoter Frank Warren is talking about the Repton Boxing Club in the East end of London.  It brings back many memories of my youth in the area - they were great times, producing three world champions - John H Stracey, Maurice Hope and Leslie Stewart.

A thought for the day...how come there is only one monopolies commission?!
