Weekend Jottings!

There are three meetings to look forward to this afternoon, one on the flat at Musselburgh and two over the sticks at Plumpton and Towcester.  The stable has three runners at Plumpton - Top Gamble, Ronaldo des Mottes and Home Run.  Ronaldo and Home Run take part in the Sussex Champion Hurdle - the latter unseated last time out when still in with a chance and had previously won five times this term.  Conor O'Farrell takes the ride aboard Top Gamble and it is certainly good to see the young Irishman back in the saddle after fracturing his wrist.

I have to say that I agree with what most people are saying about the Channel 4 Grand National advert.  I don't like it much and wonder who on earth gave it the okay?  It shows horses galloping through greenhouses, down streets and over cars.  You don't need that sort of publicity when there are already so many people agains the Grand National already...just my opinion!

I see that Mario Balotelli is back among the goals again for A C Milan.  He says that it is down to his new girlfriend, Fanny...I haven't made that up, there is no punchline - that is what he said!  Honest!
