This afternoon there are three jumps cards at Wincanton, Stratford and Newcastle and the stable has three runners at Wincanton - Grand Exit, Keep The Cash and Milor de la Borie.  Keep The Cash makes his hurdling debut having shown promise in bumpers and today's better ground should also suit him better than the heavy going that he raced on last time at Towcester.

I see that David spent a few quid at the Cheltenham Sales on Wednesday when he bought four horses for prices ranging from £60,000 to £160,000.  They are all ex-pointers that have raced either in England or Ireland and are certainly some nice sorts to look forward to next season.

Don't forget that Charlotte Scudamore is participating in the London Marathon today - she will be one of the ones tailed off out the back!  Lottie is raising money for Childrens Hospice South West and you can donate to this great cause by visiting her Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/charlotte-scudamore.  Husband Tom Scu will be busy riding at Wincanton - if it had been my wife, I would have been there supporting her, afterall I reckon that Charlotte is going to need plenty of supporting after the race!  Seriously though, we all wish Charlotte the very best of luck and hope that she raises lot of money for the excellent CHSW.

I will be glued to the television this afternoon as Tottenham Hotspur take on Manchester United at 1.30, followed by Liverpool versus Chelsea.  Spurs seem to have gone off the boil since they have had a few injury worries with some of their players, so it will be Man City for me.  I also think that Liverpool can get a result against Chelsea at Anfield - Chelsea have just been far too incosistent this season.

Apparently Michael Carrick is on the shortlist for the player of the year award.  As far as I am concerned it just highlights the lack of quality English players this season - he has no chance of winning it.  I think that we need to limit the number of overseas players in each team in the Premiership, a bit like they did in county cricket all those years ago.
