It was a great double at Towcester yesterday for the stable and both were ridden by Conor O'Farrell.  Henok won the handicap chase to record his first ever success.  He got the last fence slightly wrong but battled on gamely to beat the odds on favourite Quipe Me Posted.  His jumping is improving with experience and he holds another entry back at Towcester on Monday so he could return to the track and see if he can repeat the performance!  Weather Babe won the following race, the mares novice hurdle with another good ride from Conor.  She was a winner at the track before Christmas and she made it two from two over hurdles with a very game display.  She jumped the last very well and battled all the way to the line.

The Irish turned out in the there thousands to see Sprintre Sacre at Punchestown yesterday and they weren't disappointed.  The superstar won beating Sizing Europe by 5 1/2 lengths.  He has now won at all three Festival which is a fantastic achievement although it did look like the season was catching up with the seven year old for the first time.  The runner up probably ran his best race of the season and the champion had to work a little bit to see him off.  The winners enclosure looked like a football ground, it was packed!

There are three jumps meeting on today a Taunton, Sedgefield and Perth plus two flat cards at Epsom and Catterick.  We also have Day 2 of the Punchestown Festival to look forward to as well.  David has one runner at Taunton, Royal Mile in th 5.25pm race with Kieron Edgar on board.  He also has one runner in Ireland, The Liquidator runs in the Champion Bumper with Jane Mangan in the saddle.  The Liquidator was fourth in the Cheltenham Festival Bumper and although it is another tough race this afternoon, as you would expect for 52,000 Euros to the winner, we are hopeful he can run well again.

Bayern Munich looked different class to Barcelona last night and won 4-0 in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.  I never thought I would say that the German champions completely outplayed the Spaniards!

In the cricket, what about Chris Gayle 175 not out off just 66 balls.  He his 17 sixes!  It is a fantastic knock and a record that could stand forever.

Two peanuts walk into a bar.  One was a salted!  Have a nice day.
