I was looking at the British jumps owners title for the the 2012-13 season.  This was won by JP McManus and he won it by over £600,000!  He had 95 winners, which was 70 winners more thab Trevor Hemmings.  I just wonder what his training bills come to each month!  I would not think the prize moeny gets anywhere near the trainnig fees.  JP is a fantastic man and puts so much into both racing and charity and our sport coould not do without him son many congratulations to him.  Our top owner with 18 winners wa David Johnson.  David was champion owner a few years ago and although he does not have quite so many horses as he used to he does have a lovely bunch of youngsters so he has lots to look forward to this winter.

Today there are three flat card at Newmarket, Hamilton and Salisbury.  There are no jumps card son a bank holiday weekend?!  All my jumping mates have got the hump, they are even talking about giong to Salisbury!

Just imagine you train the winner of the Grand National and the owner Douglas Pryde says the four guests he would invite to a dinner party would be Nigella Lawson, Patrick Bancroft, Trevor Hemmings and Gordon Angus and they would have a day at a champagne restaurant in Linlithgow.  The restaurant would probably be too posh for Harvey Smith anyway I guess!  Imagine him sitting there in his flat cap.  I think I would have Harvey as one of my guests, he has some great stories and is not afraid to tell them!

The prize money in Ireland is really good.  Willie Mullins won £3,908,059 in prize money.  Nearly 3 million in front of the second, Gordon Elliott.  Top Irish jockey Davey Russell rose 82 winners less than British champ AP but won over £300,00 more in prize money!  Something is definitely not right here!

The big game in the football today is Liverpool versus Everton.  I am sure owner Terry Neill will be up supporting his beloved red!
