Street Entertainer on the Gallops (nearside)
David has three runners at Haydock this afternoon which is the mixed meeting of flat and jumps and has some valuable prize money on offer. Weekend Millionair runs in the long distance hurdle, Street Entertainer in the Swinton hurdle and Poole Master in the novice handicap chase. They all look big field tricky handicaps and our three runners are fairly big prices and all three could do with the rain staying away. The good news is however that Haydock only had 3mm of rain overnight so lets just hope they don't get too much more this morning! There is plenty of racing action to keep us entertained today, seven meetings including the mixed card at Haydock and a jumps card at Hexham.
There are plenty of runners at Ascot, including a couple of cavalry charges! The 3.50pm races has 20 runners over seven furlongs and the 4.25pm race has 26 runners over six furlongs. Every horse will certainly need some luck in running and good luck if you are having a bet in these racing!
Our only runner yesterday, High Ville was pulled up up at Market Rasen and ran no sort of race while I was impressed with the Luca Cumani trained Mount Athos won with any amount of hand at Chester. This was particularly pleasing as it was a ground he supposedly does not like, mind you the second horse, Mad Moose is a chaser and picked up over £16,000 for finishing second!
Its FA Cup final today at Wembley. Its a 5.15pm kick off and the game will be live on ITV. It always seemed more traditional when it was a 3pm start, the things they do for TV, or is it money?! Man City are 5/2 on to win in 90 minutes or 5/1 on to lift the trophy. I can't see them getting beaten.
In the golf, Sergio Garcia is on top of the leaders board in the players championship at Sawgrass. He is bound to have a poor round and blow it! Westwood has had a bogey free week so far and looks to be in good form and I think he could be the winner.
Todays football treble. Man City 2/5, Everton 8/15 and Man Utd 1/3. Have a nice day.
