Beautiful Morning at Pond House
It is a quiet day with no runners for Pond House but there are six meetings, four on the flat at Newbury, Newmarket, Doncaster and Thirsk and two jumps cards at Bangor and Uttoxeter. They are good cards at Newbury and Newmarket with a Group 1 at Newbury, the 3.50pm Lockinge. Aidan O'Brien comes over with Declaration of War who is unbeaten in his last three starts and son Joseph O'Brien rides. They also have two listed races at Newmarket so there is some great action on the TV to watch! David has three runners at Stratford tomorrow, Keep the Cash and Milor De La Borie in the maiden hurdle and Prideofthecastle in the the Bumper.. Check back here tomorrow for more news.
There was plenty of thunder and lightening and rain at Pond House yesterday afternoon, even some hail stones! It did seem very localised however as David was at Devon County show, not too many miles away and the weather was okay! It is hard to believe we are in May although it is a lovely bright and sunny morning today, though it is still a rather chilly 6 degrees!
I see jockey Barry McHugh's four people who he would invite to a dinner party are Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler, Thomas 'hot man' Hearns and Sugar Ray Leonard. I don't think I would like to sit in the wrong chair! McHugh is obviusly a big fight fan!
Man Utd are earning lots of money out of Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement. The club sold all 70,000 programmes at £3 a time for their last home match and they are now talking of a reprint! Demand for tours of Old Trafford have also gone up!
Hull who got promoted to the Premier league have released 12 players. They will have to go into the transfer market and spend big if they are going to try and stay up next season. I think they will go straight back down and there is a big gap between the two league's. They are not as good as Wigan, Reading or QPR and they all went down.
A jump lead walks into a bar, the bartender says " i'll serve you but don't start anythiing!"
