It was a good weekend for the yard with Prideofthecastle on the mark on his debut for the yard with a battling success in the bumper at Stratford. He was giving a stone in weight to the runner-up The Road Ahead, who gave our runner a good bump in the final fifty yards - the first three home all look to be decent prospects so this was doubtless a good performance under Tom Scudamore.
Godolphin were able to put recent woes behind them with the impressive Group One success of Farhh in the Lockinge at Newbury on Saturday. He had no Frankel to beat this time, but even so it was an impressive performance, especially when you consider that connections stated that the horse would come on for the run!
It looks like being a busy day (for a Monday) with no less than five meetings taking place today, four of them on the level as well as a jumps card at one of our local tracks Newton Abbot. The stable has two runners at Newton Abbot, Royal Peak and Garryleigh. Garryleigh finished a good second at Ffos Las last time out and takes in the staying novices' hurdle this afternoon - he is in receipt of 7lbs from market rival Mcllhatton and if the handicapper is correct, there shouldn't be much between them.
I see that it is Jonothan Lower's 46th birthday. I remember when our form jockey arrived at the yard straight from leaving school. I could tell you some stories about Jon...however I would probably get locked up!

In the cricket it looks as though New Zealand are definitely a second class international side having been bowled out for only 68 - just think at the end of the second day of play England were available to back at 7/2...I just wish I had a little more faith in our team!

What a great goal from Bale at the weekend - I cannot believe that Spurs will be able to hold on to him during the summer. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Wayne Rooney finished up at Chelsea and I am sure that Coleen would love the Chelsea scene once the locals have learned to understand her accent!
