There are five meetings taking place this afternoon - three on the level at Southwell, Lingfield and Kemtpon and a couple of jumps cards at Huntingdon and Worcester. The stable has one runner at Worcester, Midnight Tuesday (pictured above) who will be ridden by Kieron Edgar who takes a handy 7lbs off his back. Midnight Tuesday looks reasonably treated on the pick of his form as he is 6lbs lower over fences compared with his current hurdles mark - he could run creditably with a clear round.
We drew a blank at Towcester yesterday evening with Garryleigh performing best of our three runners. He put up a decent performance to finish second to 6/4 favourite Twelve Roses, the pair of them coming eight lengths clear of the third. He seems a little unlucky but I am sure that David will place him to win before too long. To me, it didn't look as though Smooth Classic stayed the three mile trip on this very testing track, while Diamond's Return seems to be paying for rattling up a quick hat-trick last term and could do with some respite from the handicapper.
Talking of handicappers, I see that the official assessors have been giving out their horses to follow. Senior handicapper Phil Smith nominates the Paul Nicholls trained Rolling Aces, while the others are Whispering Gallery (John Ferguson), Un de Sceaux (Willie Mullins) and Williams Wishes (Evan Williams) - surely the handicappers must know what they are talking about?...I will certainly be following the fortunes of their selections with interest!

The Anglo-Irish Jumps classification was announced yesterday afternoon and I see that The New One was named the top-rated novice hurdler on a mark of 165. One of our owners Gino has a half share in the horse and he will certainly be pleased with the news. By the way, Gino tells me he owns the half that eats!

I cannot believe what I am hearing! Apparently boxer Audley Harrison is planning on making a 'comeback' less than three weeks after quitting the sport. He has had two first round defeats in the last seven months. Surely no-one will pay him to box again? Of course, I do use the word 'box' loosely! I suppose it is good money for a couple of minutes work if you can get it!
