Today there are just two jumps cards at Southwell and Fakenham and to be fair the prize money at Fakenham isn't at all bad so well done to them. I have some fond memories of Fakenham from years ago - it is a tight, left-handed track with a real country atmosphere. I remember MCP saying to me 'we will drive up to Fakenham - it is just the other side of Ipswich'...yes Martin, about 70 miles just the other side of Ipswich! Martin was never too good with a map! The course is well worth a visit if you are ever in the area (and that doesn't include Ipswich)!
I see that Frankie Dettori has a ride in the French Derby at Chantilly this afternoon. It would be some result if he could land their big race on his return to France given the problems that he has had with the French authorities.

What are the odds of two holes in one? Well Andrew Dodt managed to achieve it at the Nordea Masters. He became the first player to achieve this feat on the European tour. I wonder if he won a car? The odds must be a million to one or even greater...I have managed to get two on the same course against the same player, but never in the same round. I won't tell you what my opponent said but it wasn't very golf like!

There is an international football friendly this evening between Brazil and England. Years ago this would have been a match to get the nation excited but the sad truth is that neither team are what they once were. Former England manager Terry Venables said 'I am more worried about the way we play, I don't care if we lose'. What I would like to know is, why can't we play well and win? I hate negative thoughts!
