It was yet another good weekend for the yard when we recorded a double at Worcester on Saturday with Garryleigh and Most Eligible, while Qulinton also peformed creditably to finish third. I thought that Most Eligible (pictured above) produced a most taking performance on his first ever start on the racecourse when running out the ready winner of the bumper and could be the type to follow-up under a penalty, while Garryleigh finally managed to get off the mark under rules. If any horse deserved to win a race it is Garryleigh who had finished runner-up on four of his five starts since joining us at Pond House although with a handicap rating of 119, he may find life easier in novice company under a penalty.
There are four meetings taking place this afternoon - all of them on the flat at Carlisle, Chepstow, Leicester and Windsor. The stable does not have any runners today.

What an appropriate name for the winner of Saturday's Epsom Derby, Ruler Of The World who won well in the hands of Ryan Moore. He looks a most progressive type and extended his unbeaten run to three with victory in the big race. Favourite Dawn Approach was most disappointing as he endured a troubled passage early on which seemed to completely light him up. Consequently he never had a chance of staying the trip and finished stone last - surely a drop back to a mile (over which trip he has seemed imperious) is on the cards.

'Special One' Jose Mourinho arrived in London yesterday to take over the managers role at Chelsea once again. In his last match in charge of Real Madrid the referee had to get all of the photographers off the pitch so the game could get underway...just about everyone wanted pictures of the departing boss.

The England football team produced a much better effort at the weekend when drawing 2-2 with Brazil in an international friendly. It was a good, entertaining match but I don't think that either one of these teams are the force of old and they certainly won't be winning any World Cup's in the near future! The result of the weekend was the USA beating Germany 4-3 - it just goes to show that you cannot take an awful lot of notice of the form shown in these friendlies.
