David at last years cricket match
Today there are just two flat cards at Doncaster and Salisbury. I think it is amazing that it is a Sunday and there are just two race meetings on. I know I go on about race planning but surely you need plenty of race meetings on both days? You don't need a lot of prize money to do this either. The most prize money at Doncaster is an £8,000 handicap and they have two races worth under £3,000. Salisbury are staging a decent Listed race with £23,000 up for grabs to the winner. The weekend is when most people get to go racing or at least watch it on the telly so sure it is beneficial to the racecourses and racing in general?
It is a big day for the English cricketers today. They have to beat New Zealand in Cardiff or they will be knocked out of the Champions trophy. If the home country are knocked out it does take a lot of interest away from the whole competition. Don't forget we lost to New Zealand in the warm up series so we have everything to play for there is perhaps an even bigger cricket match today however! This is taking place in local village Culmstock with David playing in Tom Scudamore's charity team. This will give David a chance to try out his new cricketing whites and it is always a good event, even for a social more than the actual cricket! Hopefully the weather will stay dry and we will get some top class entertainment. I shall let you know news of how they get on tomorrow!
I see that Man United want Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo to help David Moyes squad for the new season. West Ham want both of them plus Mesi. I don't think either club are going to get what they want!
Wigan look a fair price to get promoted back to the Premiership next season, 4/1. They have a new manager, Owen Coyle in charge and they played okay in the Premier League and they did win the FA Cup this year. The trouble is it taks a long time to win your bet, that is confidence for you!
