It's a busy day with five meetings taking place today, three on the flat at Catterick, Kempton and Chepstow as well as two jumps cards at Worcester and Perth. The stable has four runners at Worcester - Most Eligible, Bathwick Man, Decoy and Garryleigh. The most interesting won would appear to be Most Eligible (pictured above) who won a bumper at the course last time out. Our six year old has to shoulder a penalty today but he looks decidely useful, so let's hope that he can keep his unbeaten record intact.
I see that Richard Johnson has decided to make the long trip up north to ride at Perth this afternoon. I always like to see what jockeys of this calibre have made long trips for and he certainly has a decent book of rides in Groomed, Bayan, Duneen Point, Rathmoyle House and Quel Ballistic...he could have a good day.
I was interested to see a horse win at Hamilton yesterday called 'Shady McCoy'...I wonder who he was named after?! He's obviously none too shabby as he won this maiden by an impressive seven lengths and looks sure to go on and take higher rank.
We were talking yesterday about Dave Smith, the photo finish judge who called the wrong result at Kempton and I asked if he would receive a ban like the jockeys' do. Well, it seems even more serious if you are an official and the BHA gave the beleagured judge the sack. It just goes to show that being quick isn't always the be all and end all, accuracy is even more important.

It was good to see that 73 year old legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus was at Wimbledon yesterday. He says that he still plays tennis three times a week...that sounds like more than most Brits play at Wimbledon!

It is hard to believe that Bournemouth are going to play Real Madrid in a pre-season friendly on 21st July. The stadium only holds 10,700 - the sad thing is that the club are going to rip-off their fans by charging a whopping £60 a ticket (even season ticket holders only get a fiver off!). I wonder if Real Madrid even know where Bournemouth is?!

I see that Colin Montgomerie has failed to qualify for the British Open. Montie played in Pittsburgh and carded a 69 and 76 to miss the cut and therefore miss the Muirfield event which takes place in four weeks time.
