Today there are just two race meetings, a flat card at Ayr and jumping at Market Rasen. David does not have any runners but Tom Scu goes to Market Rasen to ride a couple, Mister Wiseman and Local Hero. Both look outsiders in the betting but you never know! They do have a couple of nice prize money races on the card with £9000 and £8000 up for grabs in two. However, I see that one of the races at Ayr is worth just £1976 to the winner which is a joke in this day and age. With expenses so high there won't be a lot left for the owner after everything is taken away!
Just think you could be very unlucky and have to sit next to John McCririck at Wimbledon! The large one was seen watching Andy Murray;s fight back in the week. I bet he is an expert on tennis, mind you I cannot imagine him playing it!
I see Daryl Jacob who has just become Paul Nicholls' stable jockeys now faces two months on the sidelines after an operation on his troublesome shoulder. It could probably could not have come at a worse time on the one hand after just getting the top job and having two months off but also this is the quieter time of year so he should be back for when the season really starts to get going in October.
If you have seen any Mexicans around Pond House over the weekend, don't panic, there was a Mexican party. I have been walking abouth with a blanket over my head with a hole cut in it. It is an easy fancy dress outfit although my moustache is being a abit awkward.
Champion jockey AP is already 10 winners in front of Jason Maguire already despite missing the first few weeks of the season. Jason has not had a winner in the last fourteen days while AP has had five. AP will be champion jockey as long as he wants to go for it and remains injury free.
