          Qulinton on the Gallops

There is a jumps card at Newton Abbot this afternoon and David has three runners at our local track.  Bad Girls, Palace Jester and Qulinton make up our trio with Tom Scu riding the first two mentioned and Conor O'Farrell on Qulinton.  Palace Jester is well handicapped on old form but all three of his careeer wins have come on heavy or soft going.  The ground at Newton Abbot is good to firm this afternoon.  He won at Chepstow in the past off a mark of 133 and today he goes off of 120 but the ground would be a concern and he has a very disappointing effort to put behind him last time out at Uttoxeter.  Qulinton goes in the same race and after a good run to finish third at Worcester returning from a break he was slightly disappointing at the same venue last time out.  Bad Girls is yet to reach the frame in all four of her career starts to date but she was not beaten all that far on her hurdling debut at the track last time.  This is a tough race and quite competitive for this time of year and I think champion jockey AP willl take all the beating on the Jim Best trained Lyssio.

There are four race meetings in total this afternoon with the jumps card at Newton Abbot there are also three flat cards at Ayr, Windsor and Wolverhamtpon so there is enough action to keep us entertained in what promises to be another 'hot' afternoons action.  Looking back at yesterday's action I saw 'To Live' win very easily at Stratford.  I hope that his trainer Nick Gifford has some other entries for his six year old as he probably needs to run quickly with a penalty before the handicapper reacts!  He does have one entry at Worcester on Wednesday so is one to keep an eye on.

Sir Alex Ferguson wns champion hurdle with 'If I had him'.  No, sorry I have got it wrong!  Sir Alex won the Channel Islands Champion hurdle!

What a great test match in the cricket and an even better result.  England beat Australia by 14 runs in a thrilling finish.  The umpires must have got so many decions wrong before the had all of the electrical devices to give the proper result.  It was hard to see the touch Haddin got but the hot sport camera got it right.  James Anderson took 10 wickets and bowled brilliantly.  He looked to difference between the two teams and I can only hope the rest of the test matches are this good!

In the football, lots of people are laughing at Arsenal paying out £35 million for Luis Suarez.  What about his £120,000 a week wages?!  I know they want to put more nite into thier attack but £35 million?!  Time will tell.
