Today we are all going to London for David Johnson's memorial service.  MCP is going to say a few words and I have no doubt there will be a large number of people there and a lot from the world of racing.  Matt Chapman is also going to say a few words, so if you are anywhere near the home counties you may hear him!  It will be an extremely emotional day but no doubt a fitting tribute to a wonderful man.  Today there are six meetings, all on the flat at Hamilton, Haydock, Newbury, Newmarket, Nottingham and Pontefract.  David has just one runners at Newbury, Togiak who runs in the 4.35pm 10 furlong handicap.  It looks a competitive race as you would expect for the prize money and our runner does have to improve his form to have any chance of taking a hand in the finish.

The world of top golfers look to be having trouble with the hard bounces at Muirfield!  It looks so hard to control the ball, they have to run everything into the green.  If they hit the ball slightly too hard it seems to run into the bunker.  McIlroy seems to have lost the plot completely!  The Open seems to throw up winners that are unexpected!

In the cricket our batsmen have struggled batting against the Aussies in the test match.  Mind you, hopefully the Aussies will struggle to!  With the hot dry weather I can see the pitch really taking spin on in the last two ways.  It could be perfect for Swann.

In the Women's football, the England ladies were betan 3-0 by France last night and are now out of the European championships.  It's a shame there will be no more hugging when they score!

Hadden Frost is 23 today.  I can believe he is that young, he seems to have been around for ages, he needs to take it easier!  Hadden is a great lad who is having a good summer with several winners.  He still comes into Pond House and rides at occasionally.  Have a great day Hadden.
