Our sole runner at Fontwell yesterday Bathwick Man finished fourth under top-weight in the 2m2 1/2f handicap hurdle. The weight certainly didn't help his cause and to me our eight year old has the look of a horse who needs a little help from the handicapper at present. It was a good day for the Moore family yesterday with both Jamie and brother Joshua riding a winner for their father Gary. Amazingly A P McCoy went a day without riding a winner!
There are five flat cards to look forward to this afternoon at Newbury, Nottingham, Newcastle, Newmarket and Catterick. It's Catterick's turn to be bottom of the pile with £28,000 prize money on offer for their six race card...it is still better than Chepstow's pitiful effort yesterday however!

I was going to have a lilttle wager on the USA to win the Soheim Cup golf, however I was a little disappointed to find out that the bookmakers make them a 4/11 chance. We have not won in six matches in the States, so I might just buy a bit of money even at those short odds. The thing that amazes me though is just how good the Korean lady golfers are - I am certain that they would beat a combined USA/European team.

I see that Gareth Bale isn't talking to anyone at Spurs - it is surely only a matter of time now before the Welshman is on his way.
Meanwhile Fulham made a good loan signing when Darren Bent agreed to join them. I wish West Ham had signed him, we badly need another striker.

Finally, I see that Paul Stewart has completed the third leg of his Iron Spine challenge. Paul, son of leading owner Andy Stewart was severely injured in a snowboarding accident five years ago that left him partially paralysed and doctors telling him he would never walk again. Following a long and determined recuperationHe has completed a long distance swim, cycle ride and walk and now 'only' has to climb the cliff from which he fell five years ago. He has currently raised over £300,000 for Spinal Research with more likely to come - what an amazing story.
