Beyond after winning on the flat at Salisbury

The stable is doing a bit of travelling today with one runner at Market Rasen, Beyond in the 7.40pm race and one runner at the other jumps meeting of the day, Perth.  The Tracey Shuffle runs in the 4.40pm handicap hurdle with Tom Scu going up to Scotland to ride.  Both races look tricky little handicaps but on best form The Tracey Shuffle could run okay.  Conor O'Farrell rides Beyond this evening but our jockey is also in action on the flat this afternoon at Doncaster.  He has three rides and is lookng to boost his good strike rate sice taking out his flat licence with three winners from four rides.  Beyond is lightly raced over hurdles but did put up a career best performance to win on the flat at Salisbury on his penultimate start.  Today we have the two jumps cards that I have mentioned plus six flat cards at Chester, Doncaster, Lingfield, Newbury, Newmarket and Ripon.  There is great racing and prize money on offer at Newbury, a Group 2 Hungerford stakes with £100,000 up for grabs and a Group 3 Geoffrey Freer stakes with £60,000.  At last, now both races have attracted a few high class runners.

I watched Mo Farah win the 5000 metres at the World athletics championships last night - what a talent!  He just goes faster everytime someone comes up on his outside.  They tried every way to try and beat him, they slowed the race down then quicken it up, they tried all tactics against him but he is just different class, well done Mo!

In the golf in the Solheim Cup the European ladies lead 5-3.  The greens look very fast and tricky at the Colorado golf club but its a good start for the Europeans and there is a great atmosphere from the supporters which is all good fun.

The Premier league kicks off this afternoon and Arsenal will play all their new signings against Aston Villa today, that will upset my Gunner mates!  I hope that David Moyes gets off to a good start as the Man Utd boss, he is on a hiding to nothing!
