There are three flat meetings taking place this afternoon at Beverley, Carlisle and Lingfield as well as a jumps fixture from our local track Newton Abbot.  There is good prize money of £43,000 up for grabs at the Devon track (more than Carlisle or Lingfield) and the team should once again be commended on a job well done.  The stable has two runners at Newton Abbot in the 5.20pm race - Prime Location and The Tracey Shuffle.  Prime Location will be partnered by conditional jockey Anthony Fox who claims 10lbs off his back - Anthony works in the yard and this will be valuable experience for him.

Just think, you could go to Newton Abbot this afternoon and see A P McCoy, Richard Johnson and Jason Maguire in action - there aren't many times you can visit the west country and watch the top sportsmen of their professions plying their trade, but you can do so here.  There is always a good, friendly atmosphere at the track to boot.

Below is the latest in our series of interviews, this time with long standing supporter of Pond House, owner Terry Neill.  The interview will be on my blog all week, so if you missed it yesterday you can catch it below:

Don't forget that over on David's weekly blog there is also an interesting interview with amateur jockey, now turned professional Mikey Ennis.  Mikey can certainly talk the talk!

Leyton Orient continued their winning run by beating Brentford 2-0 last night.  I suppose we will have to suffer Barry Hearn shouting on televison again!  For some reason, they still will not share a stadium with West Ham.

I see that snooker player Stephen Lee will get his sentence today on the seven charges of snooker match fixing.  As far as I'm concerned it shouldn't take long - an easy decision...ban him for life.  Cheats of any description in sport be it rigging or drugs use should be warned off for good.

Thought for the day, did you know that there are over 200 people of 100 years of age or more that are still driving?  I wonder if any of them still have their original cars?  I reckon they would all have faster reactions than my wife and probably a better sense of direction too!
