    Soliwery (nearside) on the Gallops

Today there are three jumps cards in this country at Kelso, Huntingdon and Uttoxeter.  David has three runners this afternoon at two of the meetings.  My Brother Sylvest runs in the 3.55pm race at Huntingdon and Tom Scu goes here to ride him.  He won a chase on his penultimate start at Ffos Las and didn't run too bady back over hurdles in a competitive event at Newton Abbot last time.  This looks a fairly competitive open race but he should run okay.  We have two runners at Uttoxeter.  Soliwery kicks things off in the conditional jockeys maiden hurdle.  He is having his first run for the yard and his first run for quite a while.  He works nicely at home so it will be interesting to see how he gets on.  Sir Frank returns to hurdles after disappointing over fences last time and Conor O'Farrell rides him.

Today there is also the big flat card at Longchamp with the big race itself, the Arc at 3.15pm.  There are 18 runners in the race for this £2,232,585 prize and four runners going over from England and Ireland.  Ruler of the World, the Derby winner for Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore could run okay at a big price.

I see that Kenny Dalgleish is joining the Liverpool board of directors.  The owners who sacked Kenny as manager is the man who has asked him to go on the board!  It's a funny old game!  Mind you the Liverpool legend is a red through and through.

The big London derby today is Tottenham versus West Ham.  Spurs are at the top of their game and West Ham are at the bottom of theirs!  I am sad to say I think there will be only one result, a win for Spurs although I do hope I am wrong.  In the other games, Chelsea should win at Norwich and Arsenal should win at West Brom.

Turning my head to cricket, there is a cracking game coming up in the 2015 world cup.  England are set to play Afghanistan. You would not think there would be much cricket in Afghanistan but they did beat Kenya by 7 wickets!
