Today we have five meetings to look forward to, three on the level at York, Newmarket and Wolverhampton as well as a couple of jumps cards at Chepstow and Hexham. The stable has a couple of runners at Chesptow, Jigsaw Puzzle (picture above, far side) and Minella Scamp, both of whom make their debut for the yard this afternoon. However, the big meeting of the day is undoubtedly at Newmarket...with over £1million in prize money on offer it is hardly surprising. The feature is the Cesarewitch handicap - a thirty-four runner cavalry charge over 2m2f and is a race that jumps trainers normally have a good go at.

There is another 'legends' race taking place this afternoon - this time at Chepstow at 1.55pm. They have managed to get some great names to compete including Graham Bradley, Adrian Maguire and Luke Harvey to name but a few. How on earth does Luke Harvey keep managing to get into these legends' races?! I'm only joking Luke...there is a great piece on him in today's Racing Post, he says 'I overachieved because I never felt I could have done any better' - I would go along with that!

There was a good result for England last night as they won their World Cup Qualifier against Montenegro 4-1. It's the first time that England manager Roy Hodgson has put out a team that looks like they are going for a win - he is normally very defensive. Andreas Townsend looks to be the find of the season - he scored a great goal and his pace is going to terrify foreign defences. Let's hope that he keeps the youngster in the team.
There was also a win for Wales as they beat Macedonia 1-0 and whoever manages their team will struggle to get any better results. Manager Chris Coleman has had many of his star players missing, including the likes of Gareth Bale. He is doing a good job so why not leave Coleman in charge?
Finally, here is my little football treble to give me an interest over the weekend - Exeter at 5/4, Preston at 4/7 and Raith at 4/11. Have a nice day!
