Today we have four meetings to look forward - three on the flat at Leicester, Newcastle and Kempton as well as a jumps card at Huntingdon.  Although the stable doesn't have any runners this afternoon, stable jockeys Tom Scudamore and Conor O'Farrell have both picked up rides at Huntingdon.  Ballypatrick looks interesting for Conor - The Irishman was aboard him when successful at Fakenham and he will handle this ground.

There were no less than 72 non-runners across yesterday's cards.  Salisbury's going changed to heavy and Windsor came up soft, prompting the mass exodus.  Hopefully the same will not occur this afternoon.

I see that it is Reg Lomas' 82nd birthday today.  Reg was a former groundsman at Cheltenham racecourse and was always most helpful.  Peter Scudamore always used to find Reg and ask where the best ground was.

Our stable sponsors Bathwick Tyres supported the entire cards at Salisbury yesterday.  Wayne and Sarah put an awful lot back into racing so they certainly deserve our support...if you ever need new tyres, go and see Wayne - you will certainly never get a flat reception!

There is an interesting football match this evening between England and Poland on ITV at 8pm.  The best price about England is 1/4 - let's hope that the team play with the same sort of positive outlook that they did against Montenegro and go all out for the win.  England are already only 20/1 for outright World Cup glory - I can't imagine too many people being tempted to take those odds.  There are some funny bets about - one firm make Roy Hodgson and Steven Gerrard only 16/1 to receive knighthoods...who on earth thinks these up?!

I see that there is a street named after Sir Alex Ferguson - it is called Sir Alex Ferguson Way...perhaps it should have been called 'Never Saw It Street', 'Blow Your Whistle Way' or 'How Long To Go Avenue'? Oh dear, it would seem that I have got out of bed on the wrong side again this morning!

In case you missed it yesterday, below is another opportunity to find out which horse Zoe Martin selected as her horse to follow for the forthcoming season.
