Today we have three meetings taking place - two on the flat at Nottingham and Kempton as well as a National Hunt fixture at Carlisle. The stable has two exciting runners at Carlisle, soft ground Listed French hurdle winner Azza, who makes her first start for the yard today and Grade One bumper winner The Liquidator. Both of them look to be extremely promising types but you won't get rich backing them as the forecast suggests they will both be odds-on. Our runner on the level at Nottingham is former Chester Cup winner Mamlook (pictured above), who makes his first start in over 900 days - it will certainly be good to see this high class stayer back in action once again. Conor O'Farrell is in the saddle.

I was watching the action from Ffos Las yesterday and I was very taken by the performance of Capilla who managed to beat the odds-on favourite in the bumper. He cost just £22,000 after winning an Irish point-to-point and that price tag is beginning to look cheap. He looks very useful and should win again, especially on heavy ground.

Former stable jockey Peter Scudamore seems to be getting a little argumentative in his old age! Scu has had a go at Aintree for taking three flights of hurdles out in the straight on Sunday because of the low-lying sun. To be fair I think that Peter is right - it is not like the sun hasn't always been there. They always used to jump the obstacles put in front of them - the trouble is the world has gone mad on this health and safety business. I never used to agree with Scu when he was at Pond House - maybe I must be getting old too?!
Anyway, for those of you who missed it yesterday, below is another opportunity to catch up with my video interview...

I see that Mario Balotelli has maded it known that he wants to play for Chelsea. He was a character (or should I say handful?) when he was playing for Manchester City - Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho once described Balotelli as 'unmanageable' and I think I have to agree with the special one!
Talking of Chelsea, they had a good result as they beat Arsenal 2-0. The first goal was another terrible defensive cock-up, although the best team did win on the night.
Manchester United were impressive in dismissing Norwich 4-0, while even West Ham managed to get a win with a 2-0 victory at Burnley...it's not a bad life!
