Today there are three meetings taking place - two over the jumps at Sedgefield and Southwell as well as an all-weather flat card at Wolverhampton.  One of the first things I do after I have had a look through the paper for stable runners is to see where champion jockey A P McCoy is riding.  This afternoon he travels to Sedgefield and he has four good looking chances - he looks like he could have a first and last race double.

There is a fascinating piece about stable jockey Tom Scudamore in the Racing Post today as well as a great picture of Scu strumming his guitar.  I would love to know where he has found those socks - did they run out of grey wool?!  It's a good, honest interview that Tom has conducted with Brough Scott - well worth a read.

Above (l-r): Ace High and Sir Frank

I am pleased to bring you another nice photograph from the gallops.  Above is recent Cheltenham placed Ace High who was working in company with Exeter winner Sir Frank.  I see that Sir Frank is entered at Wetherby this weekend.

It is a sad day for the stable today as we remember our friend Joseph Coate who passed away on this day in 2005.  Joseph was a very promising young lad who worked in the stable and was one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet.  He was 17 years of age.

David went up to London as guest of Mike Vince yesterday for the HWPA Derby Awards - he was accompanied by Gerry Supple, I wonder what their heads are like this morning?!.  I see that Nick Luck was voted broadcaster of the year ahead of Matt Chapman - can you imagine what motormouth would have been like if he had won again?  I'm sure he would have gone even more orange!

Sheikh Mohammed has just paid out 4,000,000 guineas for broodmare Dancing Rain, the dual Oaks winner who is currently in foal to Frankel.  Just think that West Ham could have bought a second class striker for that sort of money!  It sounds like a lot of money to spend on a horse, but when you think of some of the other sports (football being a prime example) - some of the Premiership teams have players that cost eight times that much sitting on the bench.

I see that diver Tom Daley has come out and told the world that he is gay.  Personally I can't see the problem with a diver being gay...I was a table tennis player and I was always happy!

Onto I'm A Celebrity news and I have to feel sorry for Joey Essex.  You know you are in trouble when Helen Flannagan say that you are too thick to be her fella!  At least Joey has a brain cell!
