Prideofthecastle was a good winner for the yard at Exeter yesterday afternoon under a nice front-running ride from Tom Scudamore (hopefully that will put me in Lottie's good books!). Despite the fact that the race was run at a slow pace I think that it was probably a fair race and he should go on to better things. Meanwhile Alderluck ran creditably to finish fourth in the Devon Marathon over four miles on ground that was probably a little too lively for him.
There is a great day's racing to look forward to this afternoon with five meetings taking place. There are four jumps meetings from Aintree, Sandown, Chepstow and Wetherby as well as an all-weather card from Wolverhampton and the stable has eleven runners at Aintree and Sandown. Waterunder looks a progressive type following his victory at Exeter last time out and he looks to have sound prospects in the competitive 2.25pm race at Sandown - conditional jockey Kieron Edgar takes the ride and claims a handy 7lbs off his back. He has won on good ground and looks to be an interesting runner.

There was a streaker at Lingfield races - I don't know why on earth someone would choose to streak there! He tried to jump the last hurdle backwards and fell over on his backside. I say 'he' but I am not quite sure if it was a man or a woman as it was a bit too cold to see!

I think that England will do well to get out of their group for the football World Cup. They play Uruguay, Italy and Costa Rica and are 33/1 to lift the trophy - they should be 100/1 in my opinion. The kick of against Italy on 15th June - remember this is in the middle of the jungle in intense heat and our players have always struggled with such conditions. Don't forget, when they play Uruguay they will be taking on Luis Suarez, the best playe in the world right now. Maybe they should have sent some of our players into the jungle for I'm A Celebrity to get them acclimatised to the heat.

What a difference a few months makes. England's cricketers don't seem to be able to bat, bowl or take catches - other than that, there is not a lot between England and Australia!

Finally, a thought for the day - two blondes walk into a building, you would think at least one of them would have seen it! Have a nice weekend...
