What an enjoyable weekend's racing and while the stable did not have any winners, there were still a number of noteworthy performances. Swing Bill finished fifth in the Becher Chase at Aintree on Saturday - he really does seem to love it over those Grand National fences...he has run over them six times now with barely a semblance of a mistake. He was staying on again in the closing stages and wasn't beaten at all far, picking up almost £4,000 for his efforts. He is now owned by Halewood International who are the sponsors of next year's Crabbies Grand National and they look to have a lively competitor for the big race.
Home Run (pictured above) again ran well to finish runner-up in the competitive handicap hurdle at Sandown and it goes to show that it was no fluke when he won at Cheltenham's Open Meeting last month - he still looks most progressive.
Our only runner yesterday, Tullyesker Hill could finish only fourth in the 2m5f maiden hurdle at Warwick. Nevertheless, it looked like a very hot race and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see plenty of winners come out of it.
This afternoon there are three meetings to look forward to with jumps action taking place at Musselburgh being supported by two all-weather flat meetings at Lingfield and Wolverhampton. The stable has no runners today. Looking through the Scottish card, it could be a good day for the Lucinda Russell yard - there was an interesting article about her and partner Peter Scudamore in yesterday's Racing Post. You know what they say, follow trainers when they are in form.

There is a fascinating article in today's Racing Post all about owner Professor Caroline Tisdall. It would seem that Caroline has led a very active and varied life and still does by the sound of it! She would be a great guest on a chat show if someone intellligent were to interview her... and yes, that does exclude me!

I am looking forward to seeing more action from Cheltenham at the weekend and will be particularly interested to see how The New One fares in the Bula Hurdle. Gino will be walking his box all week!

Following their latest defeat England are now 2-0 down in the Ashes series. We have never come from two losses down to win the series and I don't ses us doing it this time either. Why doesn't someon tell our batsmen to stop trying to hook the short balls? The Aussies have worked out that we are not very good at the short stuff. Our cricketers are certainly not as good as they seem to think they are.

A man walks into a physchiatrist's office wearing only clingfilm for shorts. The shrink says, 'Well, I can clearly see you're nuts!'
