Today we have three meetings, two over the jumps at Uttoxeter and Fontwell as well as an all-weather flat card at Southwell. The stable has two runners at Uttoxeter - exciting bumper performer Legacy Gold (pictured above left) who makes her hurdling debut and Bladoun. I am of the opinion that Bladoun has been unlucky not to have won a race by now - he has had eleven starts and has been placed in six of them and looked sure to win a race when falling at the last at Chepstow early on in his career - today's drop back in trip should help. Both runners are to be ridden by Tom Scudamore.
It is hard to believe, but with the King George VI Chase taking place at Kempton in just over a fortnight the track have taken the extraordinary measure of watering the track. It is the first time they have done this in December 2002 - they put 10mm on the back straight and another 5mm on the home straight. I understand that they are trying to keep the ground good for the Winter Festival on Boxing Day, but it seems a little early to be artificially altering the ground...I would have thought the elements would have looked after that themselves.
I see that former jockey turned trainer Nigel Hawke said 'a bad bang on your head can do strange things...I was found hours later wandering around the town in slippers'. That sounds like a typical Saturday morning in Brixham. Everybody seems to be walking around town in slippers - it would just be nice if they had some clothes on (and I'm not joking)!

I must say that I agree with Roy Keane (mind you, who would disagree with him?!) - Sir Alex Ferguson must let David Moyes get on with his job. Imagine if you were the manager and kept seeing Sir Alex around the place - I would think it could be quite distracting.

Following all the latest match fixing allegations, I think I can finally make an excuse for my local team Torquay United. Could they be in on it as well - they are bottom of the league and I find it hard to believe that anyone could play that badly! I am of course only joking before I hear from the team's solicitors...I love going to Plainmoor to watch The Gulls play, but it has become a rather harrowing experience!
I will be watching the football on television this evening and will be having a little treble to give me an interest - St Mirren at 8/13, Stranraer at 4/9 and Olympiakos at 2/5...you heard it here first!
