Kings Palace relaxed in the stables
               before his victory

David has four runners today all at Ffos Las while there is also a jumps card at Plumpton and a flat card at Wolverhampton.  Baltimore Rock, Off the Wall, Shaking Hands and Moncarno make up the stables quartet.  The three year old Moncarno is having his first ever run in the bumper.  He is a nicely bred youngster who goes okay at home but everything will be new to him so the experience will do him the world of good.  Baltimore Rock is making his hurdles debut after showing some useful bumper form while Off the Wall is making his chasing debut.  Shaking Hands is having his first run of the season but will need to show a career best, running off a mark of 128 this afternoon.  Tom Scu rides all of our runners.

It was a fairly good weekend for our stable runners.  Kings Palace was really impressive at Cheltenham yesterday and won by 14 lengths.  He is now quoted at 6/1 for the Albert Bartlett at the Festival in March.  Salut Flo ran okay for a long way and will be sharper for his first run in a long while.  The New One is obviously not our horse but he could not have been more impressive for the Twiston-Davies team in the International hurdle.  He quickened really well up the Cheltenham hill and I certainly know one happy Italian, well done Gino!

Meanwhile at Southwell yesterday it was a very pleasing hurdling debut performance from Red Sherlock.  He won like an odds on shot should and jumped well.  He has now won all four of his career starts and looks a hugely exciting young prospect.  Smiles for Miles finished third on his hurdling debut and perhaps looked a little one paced in the closing stages.  Maybe a stiffer track and more testing ground will help him.

AP finished third in the Sports Personality of the Year last night.  I think it should be called sports person of the year.  The winner Andy Murray could not even be bothered to come over from America for the day.  His acceptance speech was boring and he even reminded us himself about his boring voice!  He does not seem to have a lot of personality to me!  He is a great tennis player so well done to him, AP and runner up Leigh Halfpenny.

West Bromich Albion have put manager Steve Clarke on gardening leave and Martin Jol is favourite to take over.  Why should he do any better with WBA than he did with Fulham?!  I feel sorry for Clarke as I thought he did a good job.  Meanwhile the Spurs boss does not seem to have a clue.  He does not seem to know his best team yet, having spent £109 million and seemingly bought a lot of rubbish!  Former manager Harry Redknapp knew what he was doing, the current managers days do seem numbered.

The England cricketers are useless!  Pieterson and Prior have got to be dropped.  Prior is a bad wicket keeper and is not scoring any runs.  The whole team seems very poor with no fight.  Moan over!  Have a nice day.
