There are two jumps meetings to look forward to this afternoon at Ascot and Uttoxeter as well as all-weather flat meetings at Southwell and Wolverhampton.  The stable runs Pleasant Company, Bygones Sovereign and Seven Nation Army at Ascot and Great Choice at Uttoxeter - Tom Scu is aboard our Ascot runners, while Conor O'Farrell rides for us at Uttoxeter.  Great Choice (pictured above) makes his debut for the stable this afternoon - he was the winner of an Irish point-to-point and that form was franked when the second and third subsequently won bumpers in this country, while a couple further back in the field went on to win points themselves...I am looking forward to seeing how he gets on.

It looks like a cracking days action at Ascot and the 2.00pm in seems particularly exciting - although there are only six runners, they have won eleven races between them and five of them won last time out.

Centasia performed best of our runners at Exeter yesterday, finishing runner-up in the mares' novices' hurdle.  The race was run at a bit of a crawl and it wouldn't have suited our charge.  She is almost certainly better than the bare result of this race and can win again over timber before eventually going chasing.  Decoy finished fifth in the handicap hurdle and wasn't beaten at all far - he should be capable of winning again, although when depends very much on Decoy!

What's going on at Cardiff?  How can they have someone like Vincent Tan in charge?  Manager Malky Mackay has done a great job, yet the mad owner wants him to resign!  If you were the manager would you hand in your resignation and kiss goodbye to your £3.5 million golden handshake?  I definitely think that there should be some sort of background checks carried out before some of these people are allowed to buy these football clubs.

I was watching the darts yesterday from the Ally Pally and I was wondering why it is customary to get dressed up?  There is an interesting picture in the Racing Post today of arrowsmith Peter Wright - he looks like a right nutter with a great big coloured snake tattoo running all across the left side of his head!
