Runners At Ludlow, Wincanton

It looks like being a busier day today with four meetings going ahead - three over the sticks at Ludlow, Market Rasen and Wincanton as well as an all-weather flat card at Wolverhampton.  The stable has runners at Wincanton (Weather Babe, Barton Stacey, Decoy, Baltimore Rock and Vieux Lion Rouge) and Ludlow (Too Generous, Red Seventy and Party Girls).  Both Too Generous and Vieux Lion Rouge (pictured above) are coming back from lay-offs and are making their seasonal debuts this afternoon - they will certainly both enjoy the prevailing testing ground.

I see that Nicky Henderson sends a rare runner over to Ireland to compete at Thurles this afternoon.  It must be great for stable jockey Barry Geraghty who can just jump on his bike and cycle down the road to work today!

Another day and another England cricketer sent home from the shambolic Ashes tour.  This time it is bowler Steven Finn who has been given his marching orders.  Finn has taken 90 wickets since 2010 but he has been sent home to learn to bowl again.  There is something very wrong with the management squad they have taken out there - they will be struggling to field eleven players at this rated!

What a squad Manchester City have!  They gave Blackburn a 5-0 hammering in the third round replay of the FA Cup.  Even the subs on the bench would be good enough to get into most teams.  They are looking unstoppable at present.

If you are wanting to buy a Premier League team, why not put in a bid for Southampton?  Owner Katharine Liebberd is planning to sell the club.  Having said that, anyone looking to take over is going to have to find a new manager and a lot of new players - it looks like they are all jumping ship!

I understand that tennis ace Andy Murray wants to get into knickers and suspenders...I am having my doubts!  Seriously he is going to put his name to all types of ladies' underwear...just imagine him asking his mixed doubles partner if she is wearing his underwear!
